I've heard of the same questions described in the article though I never saw them.
The first question is "Would American troops be used to confiscate guns."
And the answer to that is some would and some would not. Many will reply, "Just following orders..."
After that the next questions is, "Are you willing to use force against Americans if they do not comply?"
And the answer is look at #1 above.
Based upon this, no general would want to pass down such an order, it would be the start of a civil war.
This doesn't mean it would never happen.
Anything that has ever happend in the past can and will happen again.
One of my favorites:
Would the Gov't (via troops) ever imprison innocent American Citizens in prison camps and confiscate their property without a trial?
Yes, already have. Americans of Japanese decent during world war II were interened in prison camps in the west coast. Some had their property taken away and never returned.
Many Americans are OK with the decision because of Pearl Harbor but when asked about their confiscated property they typically say nothing.

Looks like Calguns is having a discussion on this issue: www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=687905Haven't read the whole thread but it sounds like most of the vets don't see that happening unless their positions were getting shot at or something. I guess things would have to be pretty bad for anything like that to happen.
