For those of you who took Stan's SHTF Seminar yesterday, you know our work isn't done. Hearing from Stan and Christopher Nyerges was a huge learning experience. Stan suggested taking his classes, as he's done. Anyone interested in taking any of the survival classes offered by Chris ?

I need to sharpen up my primative man skills. The funny part is that Mr. Nyerges plans on taking some of my firearms classes so I'll let you know what day he chooses should you like to talk to him further.

I would be interested. Unfortunately I couldn't make it to Stan's class, but I really could use some skills in this area.

At the end Christopher whipped out a piece of leather, some dry brush, a stick, a string, and a block of wood and had a fire in a few minutes.
Our ancestors used to do this as a way of life and so can should we.

That would be great Stan. Your schedule gets busy in March. Don't know if this Saturday (23/2) works for anyone, but Chris is offering a Fire Workshop/ Wild Food Outing this Saturday morning at 10 a.m. I will email Chris and ask if he'll take TASC students as walk-ins. Watching him make a fire that quickly was amazing. Took me back to my Boy Scout days, but our Scout Master usually got frustrated and just whipped out a lighter.

I'm thinking about the Survival Skills Intensive on Saturday 3/23. Chris got back to me today. Saturday's class is already full. He asked me to remind everyone he holds his classes almost every Saturday. The Intensive Class is held in the Angeles Forest at Switzers Camp, a mix of riparian, chaparral, and higher-elevation plants. We’ll learn about slings, snares, wild plants, weaving, primitive fire, etc. He also said to remind everyone he has a March special. Sign up in advance for any 3 classes, but pay in advance for only TWO! www.christophernyerges.com/schedule.htm

Stan, Aside from the geographic difference with flora and fauna , how far different was this class from the Jungle Survival Course I believe you had to take in Subic Bay, Philippines as a US Marine stationed there... was there any similarities? I was lucky enough to have a quick survival class there a long time ago with a local expert and learned the hundreds of things that you can do with bamboo !!!
