I would rate this one of the best realistic fight scenes in movie history and all done in one single take!!!
When Oh Dae Su raises his pair fist up during the fight , he reminds me of Stan when he teaches the initial defensive stance during the the class... ;D

No one even mentioned "the Matrix" for gritty realism!

Gotta love the Bourne Trilogies. Fight choregrapher was Jeff Imada. 1st Gen instructor under Guro Dan Inosanto. That was all Kali. (FMA:Filipino Martial Arts)

So in typical Hollywood fashion, they just made the Western version of this Asian flick called Old Boy courtesy of Spike Lee:

I would have to say Bourne series has some really good fight scenes. Other scenes I thought were great. IP man (Yip man, true history character), when China was oppressed by Japan. This fight scene occurs inside a prison labor camp where the Japanese used the Chinese prisoners as labor workers and martial arts punching bag and killed in the process. This prisoner IP man fights after watching his friend was beaten to death. His style is Wing Chun which is the basis of Bruce Lee before he created JKD Dragon Tiger Gate is a comic series brought to life. Also Wing Chun with a added cool comic style poses. Transporter Pure entertainment. Skip the beginning. The child like song and a young girl butching the gangster. A bit disturbing but I like it. There's many other great fight scenes, too much to post up.

Ok, Ok... I was hoping this thread would induce people to post *REALISTIC* hand-to-hand (no samurai swords, etc) fight scenes from the movies so we can apply some fighting techniques to *real life* situations.... ...but since it's not going as planned...how about this one: ;D You have to admit the realism in Close Quarter Combat provided by Teddy is outstanding! I just learned to make sure to wear my belt tight before a fight with stuffed animals so they can't draw my pants down and embarrass me...

If the title of thread was best "realistic" I might have chose other scenes. This one is going to be hard to beat
