Bought a 1000rd case of Wolf 223/55gr for upcoming TASC courses.
Trying to save my Lake City / Winchester M193 for SHTF.
Sure hope my M4 doesnt have a problem with it.

Looks nice. Q: What were the weight differences between your handguards and stocks? Did the weight diffs offset the addition of the VG? fwiw, have used about 800rds of Tula through a couple of Stans' classes this year...did have a couple ftf which I think were light strikes maybe. Also a couple fte, dirty dry chamber maybe? Great for malfunction drills. Have run some Brown Bear and Silver Bear, only about 40rds of each...no probs at all.

wckalijkd, let us know how it goes with the Wolf. I have a lot of brass cased .223 left, but I'd like to switch to the low budget stuff. For something that you are literally burning up, why pay more? I have read that some people have problems w. brass cased ammo after using Wolf/Tula because of various lacquers, coatings etc. and other junk that gum up the chamber and cause FTEs, but that's all rumor from Calguns and not first hand experience.

i've ran about 2500-3000 rounds of wolf through my 2 ar's (di and piston) at stan's classes without issues. i also swap in m855 and m193 without issues. i tend to not clean my guns as i'm looking for practice with failure drills (however my guns haven't fte/ftf... just the occasionaly double feed and tap/rack/bang loose mag). i just lube them and they have been running fine with cheap wolf or nice quality ammo. haven't run any premium match grade stuff as i don't have the optics on my gun to utilize match grade quality.
btw, i'm very jealous you get to run your gun the way it was intended without goofy bb or grip wraps... sigh...

OK, just to clarify Both my Pre & Post TASC M4 setup was basically identical in configuration. Meaning, both had a Grip Pod, Fenix TK11, etc. I replaced the M4 to a CTR stock becuz it had the hole to accomodate the quick release stud. Replaced YHM quad rail for Magpul MOE. Replaced metal flashlight mount for plastic VTAC. Even tho the weight difference from the YHM to Magpul might be a few ounces, it is a major difference in overall weight and feel. Consider holding your rifle from the pistol grip only. Your p/g is your fulcrum point. From your p/g to muzzle it is "Front Heavy". Those xtra few ounces might feel like half a pound "up front". 16oz = 1lb. Couple ounces here and there adds up quick. Hanging my M4 over my neck on a sling for 4 hrs should be alittle bit more bearable now:-)

U should see my "Other" RAWs If 308 was cheap, I would do several classes with my DSArms Fn Fal carbine.
