Stan, Would appreciate some more information on your new holster / rig you wore in class yesterday at Pistol 101. I have a new chest rig. As you saw, I'm not getting a clean draw with my current holster.
Would also like to hear and see how other students are carrying pistols when using a chest rig.

Thanks Kayaker, Finally here is a photo for those who haven't seen it. Its the new Blackhawk Epoch Light Bearing Holster. So here's the deal, it was about time that I started using a light-bearing holster and I wanted the least amount of change from my old setup which I became very smooth with. The additional bulk and weight did not work with the jacket slot adapter I previously used so I had to put it on my older Serpa drop leg platform. Its OK, with everything there is a compromise. I just wanted to add that a lot of people use the term "personal preference" when adopting gear. I like the term "capabilities choice." Its not that I prefer wearing a drop leg but the addition of the bulk/weight of the holster made me wear the holster lower than the belt line in order to accommodate my draw stroke. I choose to use a light bearing holster because I dogmatically subscribe to 100% target ID in the civilian CONUS setting DESPITE that its a bulker/heavier setup. Also, pictured behind the holster is the new Stan First Aid Kit (Stan FAK). Slightly larger than my previous but more capable because I choose to have a 4" Israeli bandage and PMI Halo Chest Seal inclusive to my FAK.
