What do you guys use? I want to buy some since I just used foamies during my last session and had some ringing afterwards. I'd like to double up. If I'm solo I just have some standard muffs that work great doubled, bout I cannot here communication at all.
I see lots of the Impact ears but I'm sure that is due to price. Reviews are a mixed bag.
Lots of training people say the Sordins are good, but that seems to be a comfort thing, not necessarily performance. Only 18dB drop?
The Pro-Ears have the best protection from 28dB but there aren't many reviews.
I'm ok with spending money, but I want performance and comfort is not primary.

^^^ Have had some of those for a few years, fine durability in our usage and work well. Quite popular it seems. Have also tried the Caldwell E-Max low profiles, seems quite similar in performance (in our experiences) to the HL's and under $30 on Amazon. hth

If I may suggest something, I almost went with the low profile electronic muffs but even with low profile, it gets in the way of you really getting your cheek on the stock. I went with these instead:
Peltor 97079 Combat Arms Earplugs
You can pick up a bunch of them for relatively cheap on Amazon. Don't be rough with them after you take them out of your ears and they'll last. I'm using the same pair that I bought 7 months ago. They worked great and I can really get my cheek onto my stock, no problems at all.
