My Fellow Americans,
The Academy of Saint Crispian has grown considerably since our first official class in August of 2011. We all have Michael Do to thank because he was that guy who said “when are we going to train?” Many shining reviews later the school has definitely made its reputation for offering high quality training at an affordable price. Our reputation on calguns.net is without question, new students often comment at how well represented we are on this popular site. We have 21 five star reviews on Yelp.com; more than any other firearms school in the region (please feel free to add more if you haven’t already). Professor Yulo from the University of California San Francisco flew down to take Rifle/Carbine 101 and 202 with us based upon the school’s popular reviews.
Of course there will be some changes to ensure the following: maintaining high quality yet affordable training, natural growth in business, and elemental survival.
I have naturally decided to cancel the weekday classes due to minimal interest. I will (for the foreseeable future) only offer weekend classes because these have historically been the best performing days. This new scheduling accomplishes a few things: fewer total classes but with better attendance due to supply and demand, better funding for increasingly improved training and better cohesion amongst alumni due to the fuller classes.
SULE is still a go.
There will be a shoot house and Urban/Home Defense Course.
I am planning to offer free 101 level Pistol and Rifle Courses to draw in the masses, like crack the first one is free.
I am dedicated to the Academy of Saint Crispian as my personal cause and like I mention in my 101 classes, firearms are an American Bushido. It is a way of life. It is a lifelong journey rather than a hobby and I intend on being there for present and future students to come.
Fair Winds and Following Seas,
Stanton “Stan” Lee

Stan,
Please post here or email everyone on your list when U will be offering the Free Pistol/Carbine 101 courses.
I got several friends dragging their feet in taking TASC courses. Hopefully these 2 classes will get them addicted:-)

Stan, you forgot to tell us about the free classes!!! LOL. My bad guys, about two days later I realized I should have done so but was already full up by then! Now I realize that some people are on a budget and the almost free price tag has pushed them over the wall, what do these people think of the $1000 gucci classes from either famous trainers or established schools?!

I guess you're just going to have to put on another one just for us! LOL. I'm just teasing you. I hope some of those guys will turn into addicts like some of us and start paying for some classes. I'm chomping at the bit for SULE!

Hey Stan, I have a predicament. I have been an ardent supporter of your dojo and I have been telling my friends/workmates to go take your class and yes, it seems they are all keen to go. Now the issue is that they don't want to take your basic 101 courses without me being present and taking the course with them. They feel more at ease with my presence since they have no prior extensive experience with firearms and I am a familiar face to make them feel more at ease on the activity. Unfortunately I have already taken the basic courses and frankly I'd rather spend the money on the more advanced course you have. So a question, can you consider offering slots at a reduced rate to TASC alumni who bring along new students to your training classes? I am sure there are many alumni in the same boat when trying to coax their friends to take your classes only to hear the words... "...ok, only if you're going!" I am afraid this scenario will happen a lot with me...

Yes, discounted rate for alumni who brings at least two friends and below criterion: *Alumnus pays the range fee and zero tuition *Can help be an assistant instructor with the friends *Can shoot some drills to help demonstrate.

Hi Stan, I saw this on your calendar. I think know why you are implementing this ( no-shows) , but I think we would need some clarification on your policy.
"... Tuition: Starting in 2013, please pay in full seven days prior to class to reserve your class seat. For your convenience I can accept tuition via Paypal using the following address; stcrispian2008@yahoo.com ..."
Will you still allow walk-in's then?
Also what if a emergency arises, is the whole tuition forfeited or partial and can it be used towards another class?
Thanks Stan!

Yes, you are correct about the "no shows", I am trying to eliminate them. Some people, like yourself, have been reliable and I need not worry. Should the customer have to cancel like for a family emergency he/she can simply postpone and transfer the deposit to another future class. Should I have to cancel the class then you can either transfer or get a full refund. Also, should you have to cancel and if it came down to it I can still refund the money back. But yes, trying to get more accurate attendance rosters. Stan
