Hey Stan,
I need a compass or two for my Bug out Bags.
What's a good brand/model?
I was thinking of the Brunton 15TDCLQ Compass for $30 on ebay. Seems it has alot of "features".

For one, I will always till the day I die wear a wrist compass on my watch. The one I wear is from Brigade Quartermasters and is made in Japan and costs only $7.00. If I had a storefront I would stock and push these to everyone. Its always there and I ALWAYS wear my watch outside the house. Often times you only need the general direction rather than an exact azmuth, "I am north of the house on main street..."
Now for land navigation I have only used one compass and that is the GI lensatic with trititium illumination. Your compass has to be scaled to the types of maps you will be using so it's good to use a commercial type compass with the maps you can generally buy at REI or Sports Chalet.
