Disclaimer: I am not an employee of nor am I affiliated with Streamlight in any way.
I just wanted to suggest the Streamlight Polytac LED light to everyone. Less than $40. Ive had one on a carbine for a few months. It has seen over 1000rounds and so far, so good. Of course, .223/5.56 isnt the harshest recoiling round out there so I dobt know how it would do on a 7.62. It reminds me alot of the older Surefire G2 but with led bulb and a click switch(I like this better than twist for permanent on of the surefire)

what kind of mount did you use? standard 1" picatinny mount?
costco has those 3 pack of LED tactical lights that uses 3 AAA batteries. 200 lumens i think. 3 for 15 bucks. great for backup, extra in the car, pack, etc... i think they are 1" bodies and if i get a 1" mount, i'll try it and see how they hold up. they look and feel pretty robust.
